各章教学要求及教学要点

Chapter 1 6 classes)
Teaching contents:
This chapter serves two primary purposes. First the chapter introduces your students to the broad notion of management information systems within an organization and the three key resources on which MIS focuses – people, information, and information technology.
Second, the chapter jumps right into the process of appropriately selecting which technologies to use based on the industry in which your organization operates, the identified business strategies for competing in that industry, and processes which either add or reduce value.
The primary sections of this chapter include:
1.    Management Information Systems
2.    Porter’s Five Forces Model
3.    Porter’s Three Generic Strategies
4.    Identifying Important Business Processes

Chapter 2 9 classes)
Teaching contents:
This chapter focuses on some of the key “systems” within an organization that can help gain and sustain a competitive advantage. They include supply chain management systems, customer relationship management systems, and e-collaboration.
The chapter then focuses on two key ingredients to making these systems successful – the IT culture within an organization and ERP systems as the integration of all software systems.
The primary sections of this chapter include:
1.    Supply Chain Management
2.    Customer Relationship Management
3.    E-Collaboration
4.    IT Culture – An Organizational Perspective
5.    Enterprise Resource Planning – Bringing IT All Together

Chapter 3 (6 classes)
Teaching contents:
This chapter focuses on the technologies of databases, database management systems, data warehouses, and data-mining tools.
It does so by discussing those technologies within the context of how they help organizations organize and manage transaction information (databases and database management systems) and business intelligence (data warehouses and data-mining tools).
The primary sections of this chapter include:
1.    The Relational Database Model
2.    Database Management System Tools
3.    Data Warehouses and Data Mining
4.    Business Intelligence Revisited
5.    Information Ownership

Chapter 4 (6 classes)
Teaching contents:
This chapter focuses on the traditionally-accepted decision support that IT can provide. This support includes decision support systems, geographic information systems, and a host of various IA tools including neural networks, genetic algorithms, expert systems, and agent-based technologies.
The primary sections of this chapter include:
1.    Decision Support Systems
2.    Geographic Information Systems
3.    Expert Systems
4.    Neural Networks and Fuzzy Logic
5.    Genetic Algorithms
6.    Intelligent Agents
7.    Multi-Agent Systems and Agent-Based Modeling

Chapter 5 (6 classes)
Teaching contents:
This chapter focuses on the broad field of electronic commerce. After introducing the 9 major e-commerce business models, the majority of the chapter focuses on B2C and B2B e-commerce. The chapter concludes with a brief look at trend impacting e-commerce and society in general.

The primary sections of this chapter include:
1.    Insourcing and the Systems Development Life Cycle
2.    Component-Based Development
3.    Self sourcing (End-User Development)
4.    Prototyping
5.    Outsourcing

The primary sections of this chapter include:
1.    Hardware and Software Infrastructure
2.    IT Success Metrics
3.    Business Continuity Planning

Chapter 8 (3 classes)
Teaching contents:
This chapter focuses on ethics, privacy and security. It does so by discussing these issues in the context of computers and networks.
